Letter with a Penny

My dad and me used to be very close and when I lived in New York, he used to write me letters all the time. One was really special because I wanted to fly home after 9/11 and he wrote telling me to stay, that the people in New York really needed my care and attention.

Another time he sent a letter and taped a penny to it.  He wrote, “It was a very good year, 1981,” the year the penny was minted. Also, the year I was born.
