Hockey Skates
Niki: My goalie skates from my parents when I was around 6... because it shaped my life in so many ways I would have never expected. I’m a hockey player and specifically a goalie through and through. I feel like it affects my everyday in a way I would have never expected.
Mom: It’s so true! He learned SO much about working as a team, about courage, about determination. The boys’ practice times were usually 1-4 AM!! The figure skating girls got the best ice hours. Many a night I fell asleep on the steering wheel, in my gown and slippers, waiting at the back door of the ice rink for him to come out & tell me all about his adventures on ice as we drove home.
