Giant Clam Shell with Pearl

A dear friend gifted me an extraordinary 2,000 lb. pink concrete clam shell with a giant pearl for my 40th birthday. (Literally my entire family can climb inside of it.) 

Originally part of a set in one of the parks at Six Flags, she found it out in Round Top where we have shopped for antiques and vintage together for many years. It’s such a treasure to me, and symbolic of our friendship: unique, big, beautiful and lasting. 

We took down part of my fence to bring it into my yard but at the last minute the man transporting it did not have confidence that it would make the move and it remained in Round Top for 6 years and just last week it was torn apart by a terrible storm. I never possessed my beautiful pearl but still it's a treasured gift.
